When asked about improvements on the game from 4 to 5, Kawata mentions the biggest improvement are the graphics, as “the title screen of this couldn’t have been done on PS2 or Wii.”
This is how Resident Evil 5 producer explains why there won’t be any “plagas” on you’re beloved Nintend Wii - and this is also the big problem that the Wii will face going forward.

Google Chrome has been making waves about it’s new “abilities”: the ability to bring most, if not all, applications to the web - cloud computing at it’s greatest.
That will probably take years, It’s something that I perceive as good for some things and that will probably be enough for most people, not for everyone.
Ted Dziuba wrote a post about the ever increasing software stack that we’re witnessing as computers evolve and what’s been said about Google’s Chrome and Gears. He has a point but he’s being too fundamentalist. Let me explain what I mean:

This how the financial times refers to Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain in a recent article about the economical difficulties these countries are facing. The FT tried to make everybody believe that the acronym is merely taken from the names of the nations and shouldn’t be mistaken with a provocation.
Right…
Well done, FT. Arrogance at its best.

Some crazy guys thought it would be a good idea to build a Large Hadron Collider and play with it a little.
I don’t pretend to fully comprehend the process and consequences of this device, but you only have to browse the web a little to learn that it could mean the end of us all.
Of course this is pure speculation and we’ll only know for certain when they start using it in a couple of weeks.
Yes, you heard me right, the date is set and the sun might not set on the tenth of september…
… or the world will keep spinning and we will dwell a little more into the mystery of our existence…

“In the beginning existed a big square field…
There were basic shapes, snakes, and hungry black holes.
Lots of bright colors and space distortions.

Then other fields appeared, with different shapes, properties, and with them came new, more complicated shapes, harder to destroy …
But with new hardships, new allies also came into picture like a satellite.
New fields were inhabitated by tiny geoms that would help when gathered.
And you could share your adventure with a friend or even compete with one.”

As you might’ve guessed, I was talking about “geometry wars” and “geometry wars galaxies”, which were and still are very addicting.
And now “geometry wars 2″ was released.
I only tried the demo but I really enjoyed it, it gave me the feeling of playing a different game.
The color scheme looked entirely different from what we got used to in the previous versions, and though it sometimes seems confusing, I think it’s a matter of adaptation.
Some enemies got a makeover, and new enemies were added.
One of the new enemies is an odd one that acts as a mirror for your shots while spinning and can only be destroyed with a bomb.
I consider these modifications to be improvements on the game, but then again, I think I have to try the full game before passing any sort of judgement.

First off let me just say that swords are cool.
No matter how you look at it, someone that uses a sword is cooler for it.
Some examples include Cloud Strife (FFVII) and Link (Zelda).
Of course this shouldn’t be applied to every single character you get your hands on.
That being said…

What in the world were they thinking when they put a sword in sonic’s hands????
He’s a hedgehog, he spins, he runs, he bounces, he kills his enemies just by crashing into them…
So why a sword??
He doesn’t need a sword, in fact, it will only make it more difficult to spin and attack.
Apparently it has something to do with his knighthood, so make him a knight already, don’t torture him.
Sega admitted that the sonic franchise isn’t meeting the player’s expectations, and that the latest games have been… well… crappy…
However, they also said they’re making every effort to improve sonic’s image.
Of course the first thing they should do is undo this concept!!
If you want him to have a sword, make it a key item, not an attack weapon… (though there are no items in sonic).
Cod save us from this horrible mistake!!

I know it’s a gimmick and I know the game will be released in september, but what can I say…
It’s addicting to create your own lifeform as you see fit and since there are close to 3,000,000 creatures on the Sporepedia online, I believe I’m not the only addict here.
I could post more images but I think you should see for yourself, so take the jump and browse through the growing ocean of creatures.

A large ring shaped device that allows transportation between planets that also posess a device.
If you know what I’m talking about then you should know there is a mmo in the making based on the stargate universe.
From the videos and images you can tell there is still some work to be done until the final version, but so far it’s looking promising.
Worthwile for any fan.

When I stumble upon something like this, I always wonder what could’ve happened if Sega didn’t back out so soon. This is a new Dreamcast game, a port: Wind and Water: Puzzle Battles.

Many Dreamcast users around the world are really excited about this release! And the market, especially in Japan, is big enough to make it very profitable, which doesn’t hurt one bit!
This is a quote from one of the developers, it’s profitable, especially in Japan. Wouldn’t Microsoft like to be on some part of that sentence.
This implies spending money on porting, printing GD-ROMs, cases, packaging and still make money, on a dead console with a userbase of about 15 million. Sure It’s quite a simple game, I’m still amazed.
Sega reportedly left the Dreamcast to die because of the simple way to copy and distribute pirated games. If a small company can make it, why couldn’t the big ones?
It seems that piracy excuse was, again, more of a scapegoat than anything else.
